Google Launches New Products

The Google event is finally over and one thing that came to mind while watching the live event is that Google is here for business.
They announced a couple of products/features which include:

NEW GOOGLE HOME DEVICES/FEATURES

They have added a couple of features to Google home — there is the voice match, a feature that would allow you the assistant to recognize your voice and customize answers to your account,  Hands-free calling, Broadcast to help you broadcast messages to all the home devices in the house and routines — to help you set up multiple things at the same time with a keyword.
Google also introduced a cheaper version of home — the home mini to compete with Amazon’s Echo Dot — it has a fabric build with 4 LED lights.

Then there is Home Max that comes with smart sound and is 20 times more powerful than google home for volume.

Yeah, all of these products are not officially coming to Africa (Nigeria).

PIXELBOOK

The second announcement is the new Google Pixel book which would reimagine the laptop experience with Google’s Chrome OS, it is also the first laptop with the Google assistant built in.

The pixel book doesn’t just look great, it also feels great, according to Google, that is. It’s a 12.3-inch touchscreen device with a 235 ppi, and a Quad HD LCD. It comes with backlit soft keys. Other specs include Core i5 and i7 processors, up to 16GB ram, two USB-C ports, up to 512GB storage and 10 hours of battery. Then there is the Google stylus — Google’s first ever stylus— which looks kinda big, but claims to have 10ms of latency.

Here is the best part, well not really the best part if you are not into this kind of thing — you can use Snapchat on your Pixelbook. Not a feature that would make you buy the Pixelbook immediately, but still a feature. As for the price — this starts at $999 and the stylus is $99.
Yes, no African country is listed, once again.

GOOGLE PIXEL 2

Google has officially unveiled the Pixel 2 and the Pixel 2 XL devices which come in at 5-inches and 6-inches respectively. And as seen from the leaks, the new Pixel device comes with an all-aluminum body with “premium hybrid coating.” It comes with front-facing stereo speakers, unfortunately, and as predicted, this doesn’t come with a headphone jack. The smaller Pixel 2 is a “full HD OLED” display with 100,000:1 contrast ratio and both devices are IP68 water resistant

As for the features, the Pixel 2 comes with always on display (just like one debuted on the Galaxy S7) but Google has added a feature that allows you to detect any song without unlocking your phone — they are coming for Shazam, I guess. There is HTC’s U11 squeeze feature too that would allow you to squeeze the phone to launch Assistant — I hope we can remap this. Then there is the Lens feature, which was initially debuted at I/O. It can recognize phone numbers, addresses, art, etc. Still on the features, Google announced more features coming to Augmented Reality and ARCore. There is the AR sticker, exclusive to the Pixel 2, which puts little characters into your scene so that you can be the director of your stories.

As for the cameras, the Pixel 2 gets a 98% score on DXOMark, it is a single lens (Yes, no dual lens) camera that comes with OIS and digital stabilization. It also comes with portrait mode for the front-facing camera, this uses dual-sensor image technology.
Check out the specs:

GOOGLE DAYDREAM.

THE GOOGLE PIXEL BUDS

This is a smart wireless headphone that looks big, but allows you to tap on the buds to perform actions like “increase the volume with just a swipe,” to name a few.

One cool feature is the ability to translate languages in real time — a feature that actually swayed me.

THE GOOGLE CLIPS

Finally! WHEW! Google introduced a new tiny camera that works with the Pixel 2 and cost about $249 — which is a lot of money.

The tiny gadget comes with a high-performance lens and an AI engine, at the core of the camera.

How to Issues With Google Playstore

WARNING: YOU MAY LOSE ALL YOUR DATA BY DOING THIS.

Issues:
- Account sync OFF permanently with the message: "Sync is currently experiencing problems".
- Signing in Google Apps fails showing message: "Can't establish a reliable connection to the server"

Possible Cause:
- system file named 'hosts' (/etc/hosts) points to a Google server that changed IP, thus blocking access to Apps.

Possible Solution:
edit 'hosts' file (/etc/hosts) deleting or commenting (adding a # at the beginning) the old line

Please do it at your own risk.

How to do it:

METHOD 1

1.- ROOT your device (of course)

2.- Editing the file
You will need a proper editor
Download and Install Total Commander and open it
OR DOWNLOAD BELOW

3.- Browse with Total Commander to root/etc
(hint: on the right side of the screen there's a shortcut to system folder.. look for etc/ and you will find it)
Tap mount R/W
Long tap on "hosts" > edit file > Totalcmd-Editor

Open etc/hosts and edit the file. Just put # before 74.125.93.113 android.clients.google.com.

4.- SAVED

Edited file should look like this:

127.0.0.1 localhost
#74.125.93.113 android.clients.google.com

remember: based on my own observation it should be look like this:

127.0.0.1(just one space)localhost
#74.125.93.113(just one space)android.clients.google.com

5.- Turn OFF your device.
6.(Not Necessary, Go to Next Step. But if the problem persist do Factory Reset..) Got it on Recovery Mode, Factory Data Reset, wipe data.
7. Reboot your device.
8. Once the phone reboots, input your google account information when the phone asks for it.
9.- Sync to your account and contacts

METHOD 2:

1. Make sure you have a ROOT ACCESS on your Device.
2. Install Root Explorer, Run App, Grant SU Access.
3. Browse root / etc... at the top of your screen you will see mount R/O and mount R/W...
4.Tap mount R/W
5.Look for host file, long press it and open with text editor.
6. just Add # (pound sign) on the first number.
like this:

#74.125.93.113(just one space)android.clients.google.com

SAVE IT and Reboot.
Now you can connect to Google Play very well.

If above method fail to connect you properly or have some issue on wireless connection, revert the host file to its original state
and install this app on playstore: Link Here

run app and choose your prefer edit.

Another Way Playstore not working after Installing/Uninstalling Freedom App?

- Go to Root Explorer and Mount R/W then delete Hosts file under system/etc/
- Reboot
- Shutdown & Boot to Recovery
- Wipe Cache/Dalvik Cache
- Reboot
- Presto! back to normal.

Edit:
Removed Attached Files you may download it on Google Playstore.

Total Commander: Here

Root Explorer: Here

Note: You may use your favorite File Manager as long as it can browse up to the root of your Phone..

Download Other File Managers:
Root Browser: Here
ES Explorer : Here

Note: If ABOVE method doesn't work for you... reflash rom would be your final choice!

HOW TO GET GOOGLE ASSISTANT ON YOUR ANDROID DEVICE

Last week, a friend called to tell me that he had gotten Google’s Assistant on his device. Prior to that, I tried to see if I could get it manually. Unfortunately, nothing happened and I couldn’t help feeling this way:

Long story short, I found a way to get Google assistant legally, without having to install a third-party application. It’s quite easy, trust me.

HOW TO GET GOOGLE ASSISTANT ON YOUR ANDROID DEVICE

So, the first you need to do is to be a beta tester on the Google play services and Google app. To do this, you have to click on the settings:

Scroll down to Google, click on it.

Now click on the three dots on the top right corner and select help

Once you are there, click on the three dots on the top right corner and select view in Google play store.

This should launch the Google PlayStore and you should see the Google play services.

Now, scroll down until you see the “Become a beta tester” section, simply click on the “I’m in” button and wait for some several minutes until the process is done. (You can leave the page and return back to it if the process is taking too long).

After this, you can update the Google Play services.

Once that is done, search for the “Google app” in the Playstore and again scroll down to enroll in the beta testing program.

Once done, click on the update to get the latest version of the Google app.

Now, this is very important, you have to go back to settings and select “Language.” YOU MUST ensure that your language is set to English US, if you have any other one apart from that, IT WOULDN’T WORK. As a matter of fact, delete anyone that isn’t ENGLISH US.

Once you are through with that, head to your applications in settings and click on the “Google app,” tap on storage and manage space. Now tap on the clear now button.

Do the same thing to Google play services.

Now go to the home screen and launch the Google app.

Tap on “Get started” and select “Yes, I am in.”

Now swipe left to get access to the settings.

Click on it and you should see the Google assistant setting.

Tap on the “settings” and turn on Google assistant.

That’s it guys, all you have to do now is to long press on the home button to launch the Google Assistant.

Easy?

Let me know if you encounter any problems.
